The Project Management unit is responsible for delivering key strategic projects with a focus on information systems and reports to the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Finance & Planning).
Following the merger of Swansea Metropolitan University into the University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD) there is an institution wide remit to unify and rationalise both business process workflow and the data systems and infrastructure that support them.
The unit is currently managing the procurement and implementation of a new Student Record System (SRS) to merge the two existing systems. The project aims to act as a catalyst for transformational change while directly supporting the university’s strategic goals by:
- Rationalising the business workflow to improve the efficiency of administrative processes.
- Improving data quality and integrity by fostering a 'data stewardship culture'.
- Providing a harmonised dataset for improved institution wide business intelligence reporting.
- Improving the student experience by providing enhanced self-service interfaces to applicants, students and alumni throughout their academic journey.
The unit utilises the PRINCE2 framework for project governance management and seeks to adopt Agile / Lean methodologies for delivery of project work packages. If you wish to contact the unit please email email@example.com
