Eduroam Wireless

Eduroam is the wireless network for students and staff to use across all campuses. Eduroam also provides you access to wireless networks at any other eduroam enabled institution across the world.

UWTSD Student & Staff Wi-Fi Setup

All UWTSD students and staff can setup access to eduroam on their laptop, mobile phone or tablet.

If you know your UWTSD email address and password you don't need to be on campus to setup your connection either, you can setup your devices before arriving so you can get online as soon as you arrive on campus.

To set up your eduroam access quickly & easily follow these simple instructions...

Windows 10, 8/8.1, 7 & Vista

When you're on campus, search for wireless networks on your device, select eduroam and click connect.

Apple iMac, MacBook, iPad, iPhone & iPod;

When you're on campus, search for wireless networks on your device, select eduroam and click connect.

 

Android

If you ever change your UWTSD password, you will need to make sure you enter your new password on your device's wireless connection the next time you are on campus as you will not be prompted to do so on your device. Simply open wireless connections, select eduroam and edit your password.

 

When you're on campus, search for wireless networks on your device, select eduroam and click connect.

Chrome OS (Chromebook)

  • Download the Chrome OS (Chromebook) eduroam installer
  • Run the installer
  • Open the Chrome Browser and browse to chrome://net-internals/#chromeos
  • Use the 'Import ONC file' button (the import is silent, so you won't see anything happen)
  • When prompted, enter your full UWTSD email address and password
    • Students example:
      • studentnumber@student.uwtsd.ac.uk
      • jbloggs.123456@student.uwtsd.ac.uk
    • Staff example:
      • j.bloggs@uwtsd.ac.uk
      • joe.bloggs@uwtsd.ac.uk

When you're on campus, search for wireless networks on your device, select eduroam and click connect.

If your device isn't listed or you need to setup your device manually;

  • Connect to the wireless network (SSID): eduroam
  • In the Username field enter your full UWTSD email address
    • Students example:
      • studentnumber@student.uwtsd.ac.uk
      • jbloggs.123456@student.uwtsd.ac.uk
    • Staff example:
      • j.bloggs@uwtsd.ac.uk
      • joe.bloggs@uwtsd.ac.uk
  • In the Password field enter your UWTSD password

Eduroam Visitor Setup

Visitors are able to use eduroam at University of Wales Trinity Saint David however you will need to contact your home institutions IT help service to obtain your eduroam username and password. Please be aware that when connected to eduroam at University of Wales Trinity Saint David's the UWTSD Acceptable Use Policy applies to all guest users.


Guest Wireless

The UWTSD Guest wireless network is the primary wireless network for Guests of UWTSD. The service provides data encryption and strong authentication.

Who can use this service?

University of Wales Trinity Saint David guests.

How can I connect to UWTSD Guest?

Carmarthen & Lampeter Campuses

To access the service you will need to obtain a Guest Wifi Voucher. In Carmarthen you can obtain a voucher from the Halliwell and in Lampeter you can obtain a voucher from Reception.

To connect, please follow these instructions:

  1. On your device under available wireless networks select “TSD Guest” (there is no security key required)
  2. Once connected you will be automatically prompted to input your 'Guest Voucher Code' then click continue
  3. You will now be able to access the internet.

Browser settings

Please be aware once you are connected to the wireless network, you may need to check and/or change your browser settings to access the web.

Swansea Campuses

To acces the service you will need to first contact the IT Service Desk and provide your contact details. Once you have provided your contact details you will be provided with a user ID and password to connect to the guest Wi-Fi. You can visit the IT Service Desk in person or call 0300 500 5055 for more information.

To connect, please follow these instructions:

  1. On your device under wireless network select "GuestWiFi".
  2. Once connected you will be automatically prompted to input your Guest User ID & Password, enter your details and click continue.
  3. You will now be able to access the internet.
