Explore the dangers of misinformation & fake news and update and develop your news seeking and handling skills using reliable and high quality online resources and tools.

  • Look at examples of fake news stories
  • Consider its causes and effects

  • Learn how to locate credible sources
  • Develop some practical  search tips

Can't access the information you need?

We can help you to put a plan in place and get started. Come along with your dissertation title and we will help you to:

  • Put together an advanced search strategy to thoroughly search academic literature on your topic and refine the results
  • Locate sources of specialist information on your topic
  • Identify key databases and resources in your subject area
  • Put together a data plan to assist you with keeping track of the information you're using e.g. using Refworks or Endnote
  • Advise on copyright, particularly if your work involves the use of images
