Student REPS Host Macmillan Coffee Mornings (Birmingham)
Most people will have been affected by cancer in some way. Acknowledging this, the student reps in Birmingham decided to host Macmillan coffee mornings on the 17th and 18th of December. UWTSD Birmingham provided the coffee and teas. Everybody helped out during the event which managed to raise £528 for Macmillan Cancer Support
We’d like to thank Helen and Tespha who took the lead supported by the Chair of the Reps, Ananya and Davina. Thank you to everybody for investing their time for a charity that means a lot to everyone.
We also had the opportunity to welcome the family of a student who recently passed away. It was an opportunity for them to see his place of study and to also take the messages of “Hope and Legacy” to keep as memories. Many of the students were affected by the loss of a friend and poet who had embedded his presence on the campus.
It was amazing to see the common room full of students sharing their stories – it certainly was an emotional experience. The event promoted conversation and ideas for future events also.
A Big THANK YOU to all those who supported us on the day!
