Aim of the Blue Light Academy
The aim of the Blue Light Academy (BLA) is to deliver programmes and conduct research that develop and enhance the ability of individuals and organisations to improve the effectiveness of the service provided to the public. The development of the academy is based on the ‘one public service ethos’ and the goals of ‘The Well-being of Future Generations Act’.

The Academy offers a wide variety of exciting programmes ranging from those delivered to trainee police constable undergraduates in the Police Education Qualification Framework to courses that develop the strategic and collaborative knowledge of senior individuals within organisations.

Our Staff
The Academy staff include experienced academics and former police officers, ranging from Constable to Chief Constable. These individuals have vast experience working within the emergency service strategic and operational arena's on a national and international scale, and the programmes are always developed with current practitioners.
