The Corporate Governance department is responsible for the oversight and monitoring of assurance, compliance, regulator (HEFCW/CTER) engagement, strategic planning and performance monitoring across the University this includes:

  • Governance and Constitutional Matters

  • Charities and Companies

  • Freedom of Information Requests

  • Subject Access Requests

  • GDPR compliance

  • Publication

  • Welsh Language Standards

  • Strategic Planning

  • Policy oversight

  • Performance and monitoring of the institutional strategy

  • Oversight and reporting of Key Performance Indicators

  • HEFCW/CTER and Welsh Government engagement and liaison

Corporate Governance

The University of Wales Trinity Saint David is committed to be a higher education institute which provides bilingual education and services of choice. This is evidenced through being a sector leader for bilingual and Welsh-medium education and proactively engaging with the duties set out in the Welsh Language Standards, in accordance with the Welsh Language (Wales) Measure 2011.

The Freedom of Information Act came fully into force on 1 January 2005 and aims to promote greater openness and accountability across the public sector.

The University’s governing body is the University Council. Under the Charter and Statutes, the Council is responsible for determining the educational character and mission of the University, overseeing its activities, ensuring its solvency and safeguarding assets.

The Higher Education Funding Council for Wales (HEFCW) has approved the Fee and Access Plans of the University of Wales Trinity Saint David, allowing it to set tuition fees for its undergraduate courses for full-time Home/EU undergraduate entrants.
