I work closely with and support the Head of Academic Services in the design, development, promotion and delivery of high quality, relevant information resources and services for students, staff and researchers.

I lead and coordinate the Academic Liaison Librarian team in its support for learning and teaching, including the development of specialist, curriculum focused Digital and Information skills, resource support and support for design, planning, validation, delivery and review of courses and programmes.

In addition, I am the operational lead for the development and promotion of research support services provided by the University Library. I am responsible for developing and implementing  the expansion of the existing Digital and Information skills provision for research postgraduates, early career researchers and research active staff.

I also act as an advocate for the service and take a lead role in coordinating the Library’s internal marketing and communication activities.

My library career spans more than 23 years, beginning in 1996 as a Library Assistant for the City and County of Swansea Public Library Service where I worked at Swansea Central Library and the branch libraries at Gorseinon and Pontarddulais. In 1998 I moved to the Higher Education sector, working as a Library Assistant at Swansea Institute (now UWTSD) for 8 years, before continuing as a Trainee Assistant Librarian whilst studying for my Post Graduate Diploma in Information and Library Studies at Aberystwyth University, qualifying in 2009. In 2016, after 7 years as a Subject Librarian, I continued my UWTSD career as an Academic Liaison Librarian, progressing to my current role as Senior Academic Liaison Librarian in May 2019. My professional interests include digital & information literacy, library advocacy, marketing and social media.
