Who is it aimed at?

Undergraduates and Postgraduates
Duration: 1 hour

The aim of this session is to introduce students to their responsibility towards Copyright and its application, to discuss how to stay within the guidelines, and to explore how the law protects creators and their copyrighted material.

By the end of this session students should be able to:

  • Have an understanding of what copyright is and how it relates them as creators/designers
  • Understand how copyright licenses, exceptions and fair dealing works
  • Access creative commons materials and understand how to use them
  • Understand that there are consequences for breaching copyright law
