UWTSD graduate Ashley Anderson is in the driving seat with new job at Days Motor Group

UWTSD’s Ashley Anderson, a graduate of the BA(hons)Advertising and Brand Design course has been appointed as Marketing Co-ordinator for Days Motor group.  (C.E.M Days) Swansea.

The role involves a number of different tasks; taking photographs, creating videos, managing the website as well as working on their social media sites.

Ashley got the call to confirm he had secured the new post, whilst exhibiting at New Blood. He said his course at UWTSD had prepared him for the exciting new role.

Ashley said: “The Advertising & Brand Design course has helped me get into the position I am in now, as I remember in college I always wanted to work in the automotive industry or do something related to cars but wasn't sure on how to get there.  The course taught me a lot of new skills that I can use within my field of work.  The final year certainly helped me learn that you’ve got to approach people when you want work and not sit around and wait for work to come to you. The main reason why I think I got the job in the first place is because I approached the company asking them to give me a brief for my Graduate Portfolio module and I never thought it would turn into a job opportunity!  I would advise anyone who wants to work in the world of advertising, branding or marketing to take up this course, as the teaching facilities are great for all around knowledge and you get taught a range of different things that will definitely help you get into the industry”.

Angela Williams Programme Director said: “We’re so thrilled that Ashley has found a job in an area that he really enjoys. The BA(hons) Advertising and Brand Design course is vocational and has a ten year history of getting students into great jobs! – ask our alumni.”
