UWTSD graduates join the cast of the National Theatre of Wales's touring production of Romeo and Juliet

University of Wales Trinity Saint David graduates have joined the cast of the National Theatre of Wales's touring production of Romeo and Juliet.

The performance, featuring BA Acting graduates Georgia Griffiths, Axelina Heagney, Alex Delaney and Kayley Leighanne Stead, opens tonight at Clwyd Theatr Cymru.

Romeo and Juliet

This is a National Theatre of Wales production in association with Frantic Assembly and is directed by Bruce Guthrie. The show opens at Clwyd Theatr Cymru and then transfers to the New Theatre, Cardiff for performances on the 9th and 10th of September. We wish these talented four all the very best along with the rest of the cast and crew.

The National Youth Theatre of Wales is a major springboard for actors embarking on a professional career in acting. Frantic Assembly are an award-winning company with National recognition. Performing Arts at UWTSD enjoy excellent links with both organisations. The Director, Bruce Guthrie recently directed Third Year BA Acting students in a production of Macbeth, a show that was designed, run and operated by Third Year Theatre Design & Production students.

UWTSD Programme Director, Dave Ainsworth said: "It is always pleasing to see how many of our graduates continue to work with nationally recognised companies and professional directors. Moving from the Halliwell to the New Theatre in Cardiff is a big step but our graduates constantly prove that they are up to the task."
