It was the first of two events designed to introduce teaching students to potential employers and agencies. Over the two days, 63 Local Education Authorities, teaching agencies and other educational specialists will be in attendance, together with 400 UWTSD students. There were also agencies recruiting for teachers overseas. The event was open to any student interested in a career in teaching. Attendees included students currently enrolled on teaching programmes at UWTSD as well as undergraduate students who wanted to find out more about pursuing a career in the teaching profession.

The second event will take place tomorrow on the Camarthen campus starting at 11am until 2pm. Students are advised to arrive early as it is expected to be busy again.

Jane Bellis, Executive Career Adviser said: “The event is a longstanding employability event organised by the Careers Service which brings local Education authorities, teaching agencies and other Teaching specialists from all over the UK to South West Wales to recruit the next generation of high Quality NQT teachers from UWTSD.”
