UWTSD students sweep drama category in RTS Wales Student Television Awards


BA Digital Film & Television Production students from the University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD), Swansea College of Art, have swept the board in Drama Category nominations for the Royal Television Society (RTS) Wales Student Television Awards.

All three films in the Drama category were created by UWTSD Swansea College of Art students. The winner will be announced at the Zoom Cymru International Youth Film Festival at Bridgend College on March 18th. The winner will then go on to be considered for the UK Royal Television Society Student awards to be presented on 3rd June at the BFI on London's Southbank.

The nominated films in the Drama category are:

Belle: a moving domestic drama showing a child’s perspective on alcoholism, by Evangeline Swayland https://vimeo.com/150771667

The RTS Awards are for student television productions that show outstanding visual and aural creativity, a mastery of craft skill, innovation and initiative. 

Students from the BA (Hons) Digital Film & Television Production degree course at UWTSD’s Swansea College of Art are regularly nominated for and win awards at festivals around the UK. Graduates from the course have gone on to work for BBC, ITV, SKY and many independent production companies, on a range of dramas, documentaries and news programmes. Graduates work as directors, scriptwriters, producers, editors, camera operators and other crew roles in production and post-production.
