The concert will take place on Monday 8th January at 7.30pm. It will be the first opportunity that current students from the Cardiff-based Wales International Academy of Voice have to perform in Swansea. They will be presenting a programme of classical song, including arias and duets from some of the world’s most loved operas.

It will be held in the historic BBC Hall on Alexandra Road. The hall, which is home to the BBC’s local transmission services, is perhaps most famous for being the venue where Richard Burton led an all-Welsh cast in his famous recording of Dylan Thomas’ Under Milk Wood.

The BBC continue to work from the building but it is also home to UWTSD’s Music Technology department, a school of the university’s Swansea College of Art. As well as fully equipped recording studios and rehearsal space, the building contains a performance area that has recently been used as a venue for the NAWR concert series and is regularly sees performances by the Swansea Laptop Orchestra.

Tickets cost £7/£5 and are available here. All are welcome to attend.
