Both organisations will explore collaboration on developing undergraduate programmes in Sinology – the study of Chinese culture - Engineering, Logistics, Business, Vocal Music  as well as Dance which will enable students to spend two years undertaking their studies in China and a further two years at the University’s campuses in Wales.

The collaboration also includes the development of joint research activities, conferences, seminars and academic meetings as well as the exchange of academic staff and students between both institutions.

Dr Jeremy Smith, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Performing Arts, said “I am pleased to welcome the delegation from Nanyang Normal University to the Lampeter campus and to develop our excellent links with organisation in China.  This development will offer opportunities for staff and students as well as provide progression routes for exceptional students to the masters’ programmes offered by the Academy of Sinology which we have established with the Chin Kung Multicultural Educational Foundation on the Lampeter Campus”.

The Council Chair, Professor Huang from Nanyang Normal University added, “Before I came to visit, I thought I already had some understanding of UWTSD.  With today’s meeting, I can tell that we have many other areas such as Engineering, Business and Vocal Music and so on to collaborate on!  We are looking forward to working closely with your team to develop partnership in the future.”
