Up 4 places from last year, UWTSD scored particularly well in the ‘Student Satisfaction’ category which confirms last month’s Whatuni Student Choice Awards 2017 announcement which showed the University climbing 80 places to 43rd overall across the UK.

Today’s Guide ranks UWTSD 1st in Wales for Anthropology as well as in History of Art, Architecture & Design.  The University was ranked 2nd in the UK for ‘Student Satisfaction’ in Social Work and 3rd in the UK for ‘Student Satisfaction’ in Communication & Media.  Other highlights in the ‘Student Satisfaction’ category include being ranked 5th in the UK for History of Art, Architecture & Design; 7th in the UK for Hospitality, Leisure, Recreation & Tourism; 9th in the UK for Creative Writing; 10th in the UK for Sports Science and 13th in the UK for Business & Management Studies.

The Complete University Guide features 129 institutions across the UK and is based on ten measures including Student Satisfaction, Student and Staff Ratio; Graduate Prospects and Completion and Spending on Student Facilities.

Dr Mirjam Plantinga, the University's Associate Pro Vice Chancellor for Student Experience, said:

“The University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD) has welcomed the news that we have risen 4 places in The Complete University Guide and this jump in ranking builds on a further increase from 2016-2017.

Once again the results of this survey are extremely encouraging in relation to “student satisfaction”.  The result of this latest league table confirms the results of the recent Whatuni Student Choice Awards 2017 which saw the university jump 80 places to 43rd overall across the UK.  Earlier in the year the National Student Survey (NSS) also showed a 5% increase in the level of student satisfaction from the previous year here at UWTSD, with the Global International Student Barometer survey placing UWTSD 1st overall in six categories including “Quality lectures”, “Class size” and “Personal Tutors”.

In a survey of all major Universities in the UK it’s particularly pleasing to see us score so highly in the “student satisfaction” category.  The quality of the student experience is central to our mission and we continue to introduce new initiatives to help enhance the range of facilities and services offered to our students.  Scoring highly in this category is important to the university as these are key areas where we believe we are able to offer added value to all those studying with us."
