UWTSD hosts successful Global Entrepreneurship Week 2017

The University of Wales Trinity Saint David celebrated a successful Global Entrepreneurship Week with a series of events and activities organised across its campuses.

UWTSD is already widely recognised as one of the world’s foremost institutions in creativity-based entrepreneurship education and has spearheaded international efforts to find new ways of supporting students and to equip them for the 21st century working environment, where flexibility and adaptability will be key skills.

UWTSD’s Kathryn Penaluna, Associate Professor in Enterprise Education said:  “It was an incredible week where almost everyone at UWTSD got engaged, from formal classes in the curriculum to creative chats around pizza, from high-end scientific opportunities to some nitty gritty with our student experience team.

“What was really wonderful was the connectivity we had with our alumni; some even came back in and took classes, and many more dropped into discussions via social media. Their insights are invaluable.

“The week was sandwiched in between entrepreneurial eco system discussions at the UN in Geneva, and high-level talks on how to support teachers at a special EU event in Brussels. GEW may be over, but our entrepreneurial team at UWTSD keeps on going all year round.”

Global Entrepreneurship Week is a celebration of the innovators and job creators who launch start-ups that bring ideas to life, drive economic growth and expand human welfare. During one week each November, GEW inspires people everywhere through local, national and global activities designed to help them explore their potential as self-starters and innovators.
