Mr Plaut delivered a talk to staff and students entitled ‘A Prosperous Wales’, which detailed the nine-step plan, adopted by CBI Wales to make Wales prosperous.

The talk is the latest in a series to be hosted by UWTSD, focusing on the Welsh Government’s Wellbeing of Future Generations (Wales) Act (2015). The aim of the lectures is to invite leading thinkers in their field to the University to explore each of the seven goals and to provide insights on how public sector organisations can work together to deliver on the Act.

UWTSD's Manjit Biant, a lecturer in the University's Faculty of Business and Management said: “We were very privileged to have Michael with us, he delivered a heartfelt practical talk on how we all have a part to play to make Wales a more prosperous place to work and live in.”

The CBI’s new publication, Targeting Success, sets out the nine critical business issues which, if acted upon, will give the new Welsh government a chance to build valuable early momentum and show an expectant business community that the government means business.

The CBI have identified the flagship policies which can help the new government set Wales on course for increased investment and greater opportunity. To deliver growth, Wales needs dynamic regions, robust economic infrastructure and young people with the right skills.
