British Psychological Society Best Undergraduate Psychology Degree Award for Maria Reynolds

UWTSD BA Counselling Studies & Psychology student Maria Reynolds has graduated at a ceremony at Swansea’s Brangwyn Hall with a first class honours degree and was also awarded the British Psychological Society Best Undergraduate Psychology Degree.

Maria, who is hoping to go into clinical psychology said she had no idea about the award, and was delighted and shocked.

“My dad was in the audience and didn’t know either, and he was in tears,” she said. “It really was an amazing end to a fantastic time at UWTSD. I have loved it all. My course was small and we were all really close with each other and our lecturers which made is easier to learn.

“My dissertation examined why the LGBT community suffer more mental health issues and I was able to research thoroughly with help and advice from my lecturers. I really can’t thank them enough for all their help.”

UWTSD’s Dr Paul Hutchins, Programme Director, School of Psychology said: “Maria worked really hard and has achieved fantastic results. We are all so proud of her.”
