Double celebration for Applied Social & Health Psychology Masters graduate

09.07.2018

UWTSD Applied Social & Health Psychology Masters student James O’Connor has a double celebration today as not only is he graduating at a ceremony at Swansea’s Brangwyn Hall, but he has just secured a job as a research assistant back in Ireland.

He said: “I came over from Ireland on my own and really unsure of what it was going to be like but I needn’t have worried as it was great from the start.  I did the undergraduate course in Psychology and Counselling and then did my masters.

“It was a learning curve for me, in particular living on my own for the first time and cooking for myself, but I soon sorted that. I’ve made amazing friends and the support from my lecturers has been incredible. It helped as class sizes are smaller here and the lecturers get to know you quickly. I can’t thank them enough! I started my new job a month ago, working as a research assistant at a university in Ireland and it’s all going well.”
