Lloyd Macey's incredible year to feature on S4C

Tomorrow night, viewers will have the opportunity to watch a special one-off programme on S4C that follows UWTSD graduate, Lloyd Macey during his recent X Factor journey.

With the programme being produced by Lloyd's fellow graduate from the Welsh medium BA Perfformio course - Euros Llyr Morgan - the University is extremely proud of what they've both managed to achieve less than six months after their graduation.

The special documentary, Lloyd Macey, broadcast Saturday, 3 March, on S4C, follows his amazing journey – from impressing Simon Cowell at his first audition, to the huge success that followed.

With previously unseen material, special access behind The X Factor curtain, this is a personal and unique portrait of Lloyd's life and his experiences on the world's biggest talent show.

"There are no words to describe how proud and happy I feel knowing that the cameras have caught so much of this last year," said Lloyd, who is 23 years old and from Ynyshir in the Rhondda.

"Apart from my own personal journey, there are valuable moments caught on camera of the support my family gave me. Time flies, but this documentary will always be available for me to re-live the biggest turning point of my life so far."

Lloyd is currently on a British tour with The X-Factor live show but his success means that he gets less time to spend at home with the most important people in his life.

"There's nowhere like home and my family mean the world to me," explains Lloyd, who had a memorable first audition on The X Factor in more than one way when his grandmother, Nanny Chris, brought a plate of fish fingers sandwiches for Simon Cowell.

"My family have given me backing since the day I was born; they've supported me and ensured that I succeed in life. But they’ve also really enjoyed the journey so far and Nanny Chris, who has always been a star to me, is now a star to everyone, and she loves giving out a few autographs!"

And if Lloyd could have given himself one piece of advice before his rollercoaster journey started a year ago, what would it be?

"The advice would be to keep faith, believe in myself and to be Lloyd Macey every step of the way."
