PGCE Secondary Maths graduates get straight to work


Congratulations to UWTSD PGCE Secondary Maths graduates Harry Wayne-Smith, Emily Kate Lewis and Emily Lewis who will start new teaching jobs in September.

All three graduated during a ceremony at Swansea's Brangwyn Hall today. Harry, from Powys, has aleady started working at Newtown High School, John Beddoes Campus. Emily from Bridgend, will start teaching secondary maths at Ysgol Gyfun Rhyd-y-Waun in September. And Emyr, from Cardiff, will join Rhadyr Comprehensive at the same time.

Harry said his course had been intense but enjoyable. Emily added: "We worked hard and it has been so rewarding to graduate today." Emyr said his time at UWTSD had been "magic."

UWTSD's Helen Denny, a senior lecturer in maths and numeracy said: "All of the students have worked so har and I am massively proud of the journey they have gone through to become extremely effective teachers of maths."
