The Welsh musician, author, broadcaster, and festival owner attended the opening night of the Graphic Design exhibition, which was held in Swansea Grand Theatre on 4th May.

In her speech, Cerys said: “I am absolutely delighted to be here to help launch the exhibition of the students of Swansea College of Art. There is nowhere I would rather be than welcoming fresh talent and new thinking to the world of art in Wales, so a warm welcome to all of you.”

The exhibition is the first in a series that will be held in Swansea to showcase the work of students at the college as part of their final assessments. They will be open to the public from 18th May until 1st June. After being shown in Swansea, the exhibitions will then travel to London where they will be displayed in venues and exhibitions around the city.

The school will put on seven exhibitions altogether, including illustration, advertising and brand design, photography and fine art, graphic design, film and digital television, and an exhibition that comprises the work of students undertaking design degrees including surface pattern design, product design, automotive and transport design, glass, animation, and games design. Students exhibiting their work at the Advertising and Brand Design graduate show will have their work displayed in the Penderyn Suite at Swansea’s Liberty Stadium, while Graphic Design students’ work will be displayed in the Arts Wing of the Swansea Grand Theatre. Both of these shows will be open to the public from 4th May onwards.

The exhibitions will then make their way to London where they will be shown at New Designers, an annual industry event that brings together design professionals from all over the UK. Photography students will also see their work exhibited at the Copeland Gallery in Peckham.
