UWTSD's Swansea College of Art hosts BBC Radio 1's Academy

UWTSD Swansea College of Art is proud to have hosted BBC Radio 1's Academy at the Alex Building in Swansea.

Students have the opportunity to partcipate in workshops, events and Q&A's designed to give them the tools, information and inspiration needed to succeed in a creative career at the event.

Produced by BBC Learning in collaboration with Radio 1, the Academy seeks to inspire students through performances, sessions with industry experts, drop-in careers and one-to-one access to industry insiders.

Caroline Thraves, head of the school of Fine and Media Arts at Swansea College of ART said: "We were delighted to host BBC Radio 1’s Academy at Swansea College of Art today. Today’s focus group activity with students will help to shape a week of inspiring hands on workshops and industry panels with leading professionals that will take place in May. All of which will culminate with the BBC Radio 1’s biggest weekend in Swansea. Swansea College of Art are pleased to be supporting BBC Radio 1’s Academy and providing our students with this opportunity.
