Celebrations for Education Studies Student

Jacques Mahe is celebrating as he graduates with a BA degree in Education Studies: Primary, from the University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD).

Originally from Neath, Jacques studied his course through the medium of Welsh at UWTSD’s Carmarthen campus.

An enthusiastic character, Jacques is currently featuring in a S4C online series called Hansh.

Lynwen Roberts, Programme Director of the BA Education Studies: Primary at the University said, “Jacques chose this course in order to be able to consider the breadth and depth of issues relevant to the lives of primary school children. His bubbly and outgoing character has enabled him to consistently contribute in lectures, and we congratulate him on his success today and wish him all the best in the future.

“Having attended Welsh medium schools since primary in Neath, he is proud to have been able to continue studying through the medium of Welsh here at UWTSD. He is also pleased to be able to stay within his square mile in Neath after receiving his first teaching post in a local primary school."

Speaking about his experience at UWTSD’s Carmarthen campus, Jacques said:

"I’ve enjoyed every second here at UWTSD, meeting so many people and having so much fun. I have learnt things that will benefit me going on in my career and I am now looking forward to starting my first teaching post in September. I believe that doing a degree through the medium of Welsh is extremely valuable, and it offers plenty of options for the future.’’
