First cohort of Architecture Students graduate at UWTSD

Congratulations to the first cohort of architecture students, who graduated this week at a ceremony at Swansea’s Brangwyn Hall.

UWTSD Programme Director Architecture and senior lecturer Ian Standen said: “It seems like only yesterday this small group of youthful fresh faced enthusiastic students decided to study with us on their journey in to the architecture profession. For the teaching staff it has been a pleasure to work with each of them along the way and help them reach their potential. They now face the prospect of a year out in architectural practice before starting their second degree as part of the RIBA/ ARB requirements to becoming a fully qualified architect.

We are fortunate through strong professional links with architectural practice and the construction industry that these students have secured employment already.”

Callum Deschoolmeester has recently taken a position with the Lewis Partnership in Llanelli and Lewis Williams is joining Hughes Architects near his hometown of Newtown mid Wales.

“We hope that the success of these students inspire and encourage our next cohort and indeed future budding architects to study with us at UWTSD,” added Ian.
