Sound and Weave - Coming to Swansea from March 9 to 31 at UWTSD Swansea College of Art
01.02.2019
UWTSD Swansea College of Art is proud to be hosting Sound and Weave – an innovative exhibition that explores the concept of sound, extending the horizons of woven tapestry away from the two-dimensional historical document towards an imaginative, multi- disciplinary approach.
The emphasis is on sound and humanity and the internal processes of the mind and body in response to sound and rhythm.
The interpretations of the theme include exploring human voices in international conflict, inter-generational and internalised dialogues, and sound distortion through ageing, disability, distance or mis-perception.
Caroline Thraves Head of School of Fine and Media Arts said: “We are thrilled to be hosting this exciting exhibition which brings together the disciplines of sound and textiles. This exhibition compliments the interdisciplinary approach our students at Swansea College of Art, UWTSD our students take to approaching their studies”.
The exhibition can be seen at UWTSD Swansea College of Art, Foyer, Dynevor Building, De la Beche Street, Swansea, SA1 3EU. It also includes an installation at Volcano Theatre, Iceland Building, High Street, Swansea.
