Students from the University’s campuses in Carmarthen, Lampeter and Swansea met at Canolfan S4C Yr Egin to take part in training as well as a range of activities.

During the event, Mared Anthony, Luned George, Lisa Corcoran and Liane Evans from the marketing team and Reaching Wider Officer Ryan Peters provided an overview of their work and outlined the roles that require support from student ambassadors including Open Days and recruitment events.  They also took part in activities that focussed on utilising such skills as providing good customer service, how to respond to enquiries from potential students and events management.

Rebecca Griffiths, Head of Marketing and Campaigns said “Student Ambassadors play a vital role in assisting the University to recruit new students by sharing their experiences and supporting the Marketing team to deliver a range of activities including open days, taster events, UCAS conventions and campus visits.  These activities provide valuable experience which enables student ambassadors to develop a range of workplace skills that will help them during their studies and in their future careers”.
