UWTSD RANKED IN TOP 10 IN THE UK FOR ‘TEACHING QUALITY’ IN THE 2020 TIMES AND SUNDAY TIMES GOOD UNIVERSITY GUIDE

The University of Wales Trinity Saint David has claimed a top-ten ranking for ‘teaching quality' in this year’s Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide.

The Times and the Sunday Times Good University Guide is published annually and provides rankings and full profiles for 131 UK universities. As well as securing an 8th position for ‘teaching quality’, the University was also ranked 24th overall in the ‘Social Inclusion’ table after being placed 2nd in the UK for ‘students with a disability’ and 12th in the UK for ‘mature students’.

UWTSD are also celebrating a number of successes at subject level.  In particular, UWTSD’s ‘Art and Design’ provision has been ranked 11th overall out of 85 UK providers – up 5 positions from last year.

Other notable results at subject level include:

-2nd in the UK for 'teaching quality' and 9th in the UK for 'student experience' in Computer Science.

-2nd in the UK for 'teaching quality' and 10th in the UK for 'student experience' in Mechanical Engineering.

-11th in the UK for 'teaching quality' and joint 14th in the UK for 'student experience' in Sport Science.

-13th in the UK for 'teaching quality' in Business studies.

Dr Mirjam Plantinga, Associate PVC (Academic Experience), added: "We welcome these subject results and are particularly pleased with our UK top 10 position in relation to student satisfaction with teaching quality.  Scoring highly in relation to teaching quality is important to the University as this is a key area where we believe we are able to offer added value to all those studying with us.”
