YANC’s 2019 Casgliad to be held in collaboration with Swansea College of Art

UWTSD is delighted to announce that YANC’s 2019 Casgliad will be held in collaboration with UWTSD Swansea College of Art at their beautifully refurbished Performing Arts space, Llys Glas, Alexandra Road in Swansea City Centre on Saturday, June 15.

Inspirational speakers, innovative workshops, platforms for emerging artists and applied practitioners and above all the opportunity to network with other sectors who are passionate about supporting young people – this day can’t be missed!   

Working in Tandem: Youth Arts and Youth Work Exploring Best Practice

Youth Arts and Youth workers are invited to come together to re-energise, connect and get creative with a rich programme of speakers, workshops and talks.

This year, guests include Dusty Kennedy, a member of the Youth Board for the Welsh Government, youth theatre innovators Company Three, and the Welsh youth arts powerhouse Frân Wen. Plus Radio Platfform broadcasting live, stories of inspirational youth work and research shared by Valleys Kids and Swansea College of Art BA Applied Drama students, and as always the YANC steering group bringing their love, expertise and games, from Jain Boon to the Wales Millennium Centre.

Casgliad 2019 also welcomes emerging artists, students and anyone interested in a vibrant future for this essential sector.

Ali Franks, Lecturer in Performing Arts at UWTSD said: “We are really excited for Casgliad 2019 to be taking place at UWTSD Swansea College of Art.  As the oldest art college in Wales we are passionate about the role of the arts in transforming lives and communities and believe that this is a fantastic opportunity for practitioners and students from the area and further afield to share experience, expertise and inspiration about the impact of the arts of in the lives of young people.”

Miranda Ballin, Artistic Director of Sparc, Valleys Kids said:  “We are delighted to be working in collaboration with UWTSD Swansea College of Art for Casgliad 2019, it will be such an inspiring and energising event.  When practitioners come together and share experience and expertise they can make a huge difference to the lives of young people, this has never been more important with the challenges we all face.
