The University of Wales Trinity Saint David has been shortlisted in four categories of the Whatuni Student Choice Awards 2020 (WUSCAs).

University of the Year Whatuni 2020

UWTSD has once again been shortlisted for an award in WUSCA’s “University of the Year” and "Course and Lecturers" categories, the latter of which the University won in 2019.  UWTSD received further nominations this year in the “Accommodation” and “Student Support” categories.

Now in their seventh year, the WUSCAs recognise institutions for excellence in a wide variety of academic and social areas and offer prospective students a student-led alternative to traditional university ranking systems.  The Whatuni student rankings are based on averages taken from tens of thousands of reviews submitted by students and published on Whatuni.com.

Dr Mirjam Plantinga, the University's Associate Pro Vice Chancellor for Academic Experience said: "We’re delighted to be shortlisted in four categories for the Whatuni Student Choice Awards 2020 as these awards are voted for by students themselves.  The quality of our provision, whether in relation to students’ academic or broader University experience, is central to our mission.  We work in very close partnership with our students and are glad to see this recognised with these nominations.”

Over the last six months, the WhatUni review collection team collected over 41,000 student reviews from 150 institutions and travelled a record-breaking 46,000 miles across the UK.  2020 has been another bumper year in terms of both the number of reviews collected and the number of institutions participating. Margaret Wajnkaim, the Project Coordinator of the review collection team, said “This year, we have been focusing on the value and the importance of reviews on WhatUni, wanting to make this year our best review collection yet. It has been a rewarding experience, collecting over 41,000 reviews for the past 6 months with the help of my dedicated team. It is a great feeling knowing that these will help so many prospective students through their higher education research journey.”
