Meredydd Rhisiart from Blaenau Ffestiniog will play the part of Efan Hopkins on the popular programme which gets broadcasted every Tuesday and Thursday evening on S4C at 8.25pm. Efan is a confident 17-year-old, who is sometimes over-confident.

Meredydd had the opportunity to attend an audition, and subsequently heard from his agent, Ryder Management, that he had been sufficiently lucky to receive the part.

“I feel happy and very lucky to have had a part on a Welsh language television programme, and I look forward to seeing how the character and his story develops” said Meredydd.

Meredydd graduated recently on the BA Perfformio course at Cardiff. He decided to study the course as it offers a range of acting, singing and dance classes. Meredydd is extremely thankful to the lecturers who supported him.

“During my time at Trinity Saint David, I had an opportunity to receive training and to collaborate with several professional performers, to chat with them and receive help from them in order to be able to develop my career.”

Eilir Owen Griffiths, Director of Canolfan Berfformio Cymru, said:

“We are remarkably proud of Meredydd’s success. It will be great to see him part of this popular programme, and joining two others of our former students, Heledd Roberts and Josh Morgan.”
