Lee Waters MS to address Swansea BID and UWTSD’s Fighting for Our City Centre Webinar

Lee Waters MS, Deputy Minister for Climate Change, and the minister responsible for Business Improvement Districts in Wales, will be the keynote speaker at the next Swansea BID and UWTSD webinar, on Thursday 24 June at 12noon.

Lee Waters MS, Senedd Constituency Member for Welsh Labour, will speak about the value of BIDs to local economies across Wales and about some of the challenges and opportunities that are emerging across the country at the moment. Future Wales: the national plan 2040, regeneration, Transforming Town Centres and environmental improvements relating to regeneration are part of the Deputy Ministers portfolio, so he will have a number of insights to share on these topics.

Associate Professor Kathryn Penaluna from UWTSD (University of Wales Trinity Saint David) will also deliver a talk about the university and its students’ considerable contribution to Swansea city centre and its economy, identity, and future. She will also speak about ways in which BID area businesses in Swansea can engage meaningfully with both the growing student population and the university in a way that is beneficial for all.

The webinar is part of a series of online events hosted by UWTSD for Swansea BID to keep Swansea city centre businesses informed about the developments that are reshaping the area, attracting investors, and future-proofing the region.
