University Ready webinar: 'Prepare for results day and clearing'


Luned George, Senior Engagement and Recruitment Officer at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David will be taking part in a study webinar in Wales this week.

The webinar 'Prepare for results day and clearing' has been organised jointly by HELOA Cymru (Welsh branch of Higher Education Liaison Officers) and Unitasterdays, and will take place on Wednesday, August 4th between 6:00 and 7:30 pm.

During the webinar six experts from the University of Wales Trinity Saint David, Bangor University, University of South Wales, Wrexham Glyndŵr University and Cardiff Metropolitan University will take part to help prospective students prepare for results day and the clearing process. During the session it will be possible to ask questions to the experts based on preparations for starting University.

The webinar will cover a range of topics from university courses to the clearing system, from what to expect at the results day to mental health and student wellbeing. Find out more about tuition fees and student accommodation and what type of financial support is available to those studying in Wales as well as those who wish to study outside Wales.

During the webinar, Luned will talk about studying through the medium of Welsh and its importance. It will discuss the advantages of continuing with studies partly or wholly through the medium of Welsh, how to find Welsh-medium courses, as well as showing how studying through the medium of Welsh will help students for the future.

Universities across Wales have been contributing resources to the bilingual 'Ready for University' platform, funded by the Welsh Government. It aims to prepare students for University study by providing a collection of resources including study skills, course tasters, well-being and mental health advice as well as virtual campus tours. The platform can be accessed through the Open University's Open Learn hub.
