The University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD) recently joined with Xamk University in Finland to co-deliver an online workshop on “How to Pitch” for professionals from the creative and cultural sectors.

The two-hour event, held on June 11, brought together creative professionals from Finland and Wales, providing the opportunity to experience a training demonstration in an informal online gathering.

DeuS is an Erasmus+ funded Vocational Educational Training (VET) project and brings together organisations from nine European countries to research, develop and pilot an exciting training programme that draws upon the identified needs and learning style preferences of creative and cultural professionals.

The training is designed to support the development of skills and competencies in a range of topics including marketing and communication; business planning; raising funding; using data to demonstrate impact and much more!

The DeuS project is shaped around the Open Design School, a pillar project of Matera 2019, European Capital of Culture. It is a design laboratory using a peer-to-peer challenged based approach, where interdisciplinary creative and cultural professionals work together, share knowledge and expertise while designing, prototyping, delivering, and testing design solutions.

Shelley Doolan, DeuS project coordinator at UWTSD, said: “We have further exciting events planned for later this year and we invite anyone interested in finding new opportunities, interesting initiatives and networking with European counterparts in the creative and cultural sectors to join the DeuS community, by visiting the website at www.deuscci.eu.”
