Automotive and Transport Design students display work at summer showcase

Students on the BA Automotive and Transport Design course at University of Wales Trinity Saint David’s (UWTSD) Swansea College of Art have exhibited their final pieces in the summer degree show at IQ, SA1 Waterfront Campus.

The show displays final projects of students about to complete their Bachelors, and is a highlight of the academic calendar, providing a great opportunity to showcase talent and bring family, friends and the public in to witness and celebrate their success.

Sergio Fontanarosa, Programme Manager, says: “The class of 2022 are a group of talented, aspiring Automotive and Transport Designers that have successfully navigated the challenges of the past three years.

“They are here to showcase their diverse work and creativity: to re- imagine future vehicles and design language, to tackle the environmental challenges that we are all facing in the near and far future, to push the engineering boundaries and solve ergonomic problems, to investigate new materials, and to improve range and social interaction.

“Three years of hard work have paid off, and they’ve learnt how to draw, how to render, how to use industry standard 3D software, how to sculpt, how to research, how to get inspired, how to think out of the box, and how to be bold.

“For these students, it is a fantastic achievement and the start of a wonderful journey. It is a real privilege for me and the team to be able to witness it while celebrating 200 years of Education. We wish them all the best of luck in their future careers.”

The exhibition will be up until 16th June, and forms part of the annual Swansea College of Art Summer Showcase, where final-year UWTSD students on creative courses display work in various locations around the city.

The exhibition will move online from 7th July.
