London Campus Graduation Ceremonies
07.02.2022
The first Graduation Ceremony for our London Campus graduands is taking place today (Monday, 7th February 2022) at the Guildhall in London.
This coincides with 10 years of our London Campus.
More than 400 graduands, from CertHE to Postgraduate level, are attending with their friends, families and staff members on this memorable occasion.
The graduation ceremonies offer an opportunity to celebrate the success, hard work and commitment of UWTSD’s graduates and gives the University community the chance to pay tribute to such dedication.
Professor Medwin Hughes, DL, Vice Chancellor, said: “We are here to celebrate your academic achievements & recognise your academic journey. I want to take this opportunity to pay tribute to staff. Their dedication and commitment has supported you over the year.
“It’s an historic year for the University. Ten years ago we established the first inner city campus of learning. I want to pay tribute to Professor Connie Matera Rogers, Provost of the London Campus and Dr Audsin Dhas, Executive Dean and Head of the London campus for their outstanding leadership over the past 10 years.
“We are also celebrating another milestone. The Bicentenary of higher education in Wales which signifies 200 years of lifelong learning opportunities which is at the heart of this University. We are proud that this University has provided you with an opportunity to learn and make progress in your professional career.
“We are here to celebrate. We live in a world crying out for honest passionate leaders, prepared to lead, showing the way through strong civic leadership. You have so many opportunities ahead of you. You’ve had the opportunity to gain knowledge and test ideas. Now comes the responsibly of giving something back to the community that you are part of it. I urge you to be change makers and leaders in your community, taking the confidence of your knowledge and skills with you that you can make a difference. We need people who can bring communities together and you can do this and make a difference”.
