Showcasing creative success in summer degree exhibitions
23.05.2022
Students at University of Wales Trinity Saint David’s (UWTSD) Swansea College of Art have opened their annual summer showcase to display degree work in various locations around the city.
Work by final year degree students from a range of creative courses is on display at UWTSD's Dynevor, ALEX and BBC buildings, the National Waterfront Museum, Swansea’s Quadrant Centre and Elysium Gallery, with selected shows also exhibiting in London later in the summer.
The exhibitions opened on the 20th May and will remain on display to the general public until 1st June (excluding Sundays and bank holidays), providing an excellent opportunity to see the fantastic creative outputs of the students in a huge variety of mediums.
Professor Ian Walsh, Provost of UWTSD’s Swansea Campus said: “UWTSD is delighted that once again, in our bicentenary year, we are able to open our doors to the public and welcome visitors to see the work of this year’s graduating students from Swansea College of Art.
“As one of the UK’s leading centres for art, design, and media, UWTSD is proud of the success of its students and the standards they achieve. The importance of the artist, the designer, the film maker, and the inventive mind in interpreting our times and telling important stories is vital in these challenging times.”
Caroline Thraves, Academic Director at UWTSD’s Swansea College of Art said: “The Graduate Show is a celebration and culmination of students’ undergraduate and postgraduate study, where you will experience wonderful creativity across a wide variety of art and design subject areas. Art colleges change the world – our students, whose work you will see when you visit the show, will go on to change the world”.
