UWTSD Early Years celebrate graduation across the campuses.

04.04.2022

The Early Years team from The University of Wales Trinity Saint David is celebrating graduation across the Carmarthen, Swansea and Cardiff campuses.

Early Years Graduation Swansea

These graduation ceremonies have been particularly exciting for the Early Years team with students getting an opportunity to cross the stage in their cap and gowns to celebrate their degrees after COVID disruptions. Significantly this years’ Swansea Arena graduations were the first for some of our Early Years Education and Care cohorts, with our first ever Swansea SA1 campus day students and Cardiff evening cohorts celebrating their degrees.

As noted by the Programme Director for the BA Early Years Education and Care Day students during graduation,

“At last! Graduation has arrived. We’ve been looking forward to celebrating without students since 2020, and we’re very excited! It will be wonderful to see our students receive their degrees after they have worked so hard in extremely challenging conditions. It’s an opportunity now to celebrate with their families and friends, and of course with the Early Years team! Well done and good luck for the future!”

Natalie Macdonald Programme Director for the flexible learning evening BA Early Years Education and Care programmes said,

“It is with great excitement that we will see our first graduates from our Cardiff group at our graduation ceremonies this week. Seeing our graduates cross the stage at their ceremonies is a testament to their hard work and dedication and we are immensely proud of them.

“Being able to deliver our innovative 2-year accelerated degree programme in Cardiff in addition to our delivery in Swansea and Carmarthen demonstrates the passion and commitment of those working in the early years sector to continue their personal and professional development. The 2-year programme is delivered in the evenings so students can fit their studies around their work commitments. Every student brings with them a wealth of knowledge and experience as well as an enthusiasm to learn more. We at UWTSD's Early Years team learn so much from our students, their passion for early years is inspiring and it is with great pride that we see them cross the stage in their cap and gown.”

Glenda Tinney said that the same excitement is to be found at the Carmarthen Campus too.

“The Early Years team are pleased to welcome back our Carmarthen cohorts. The students have gone on to many exciting roles including working in education, the local authority, health and wellbeing and into business. We are very proud that several have studied the BA (Addysg a Gofal Blynyddoedd Cynnar) and are actively supporting and promoting Welsh-medium and bilingual early years provision in Wales. It is a significant part of the Early Year’s team’s work to support all students' confidence and engagement with their bilingual skills.”
