After 10 years of working in the construction industry, UWTSD London MBA in Business Administration graduate Errol Malcolm is keen to make the most of his new digital skills and qualifications and is already looking for a new career path in the NHS.

After 10 years of working in the construction industry, UWTSD London graduate Errol Malcolm is keen to make the most of his new digital skills and qualifications and is looking for a role in the NHS.

Looking for a new challenge, Errol joined the University’s London campus with the aim of updating his skills. Here he credits the University for its support during his learning journey and is excited about the new opportunities that await him.

He said: “Before starting my university course, I had worked as a bricklayer for around ten years in and around London and the home counties for several companies. I felt I needed a new challenge and I looked at several options and thought it was best to re-train and update my skills. I decided to return to education, which led me to UWTSD, and I decided to sign up.

Errol said he was initially anxious but was determined to succeed and said the support received from staff at UWTSD helped to put him at ease as he faced new challenges.

He said: “During my first term I faced challenges with my digital skills, and I believe this was due to me being one of the older members of the class and not fully understanding what was required by myself, and in terms of communicating with the lecturers about my challenges. However, once I started to communicate with Dr Audsin Dhas, Executive Dean and Head of the London campus at UWTSD, he made sure that I had the support I needed.

“The course has assisted me in many ways, firstly I read a lot more now, I find reading journals fascinating and full of knowledge, and I now see and understand life that much better. It’s also given me the confidence to start my search for new employment in the NHS.”
