Performing Arts sits at the cultural heart of the University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD). Our courses are offered in Carmarthen, Swansea and Cardiff.
A wide range of theatre professionals contribute to the programmes as tutors, directors ,choreographers, designers and musical directors. Our professionally driven practice-led modules will equip you with a strong skillset and enable you to build an extensive portfolio of work, giving you the edge in your search for jobs in a competitive discipline. The School’s engagement and collaboration with theatre professionals from different disciplines creates an extremely encouraging and supportive environment in which students can safely explore and experiment.
UWTSD Cardiff is home to the Wales International Academy of Voice. The Academy founded by Internationally renowned Tenor Dennis O'Neill provide a highly specialised and unique environment for a small number of exceptional singers and accompanists at the early stage of their professional career and recruits young artists globally.
Performing Arts at UWTSD is also dedicated to train and develop Welsh performers of the future. Canolfan Berfformio Cymru based in UWTSD Cardiff offer Welsh medium degree programmes that provide students with a solid technique, hand in hand with a broad understanding of the creative industries in Wales and beyond.
Course run out of Swansea College of Art UWTSD include Applied Drama: Education, Wellbeing, Community, designed for those who love performance and are excited by its role in community & Performing Arts: Drama and Media, this course weaves physical and vocal performance with media and technology to create interdisciplinary, experimental performance, exploring modern ways of sharing modern stories.
