Team MCR was a student-led race team which began in 2013. The team ran two Sports Prototype racing cars (MCR Sports 2000 Durate).
The team competed in the SRCC Sports 2000 championship which offered a fantastic club level atmosphere with a range of both amateur and semi-professional competitors/teams.
Students on the team were responsible for every aspect of running the race cars in the championship, from race preparation and component development to simulation and data analysis. Students even looked after the finance, sponsorship, team management and PR responsibilities.
These activities provided students with a great opportunity to enhance their studies with hands-on experience which supported their employability.
