Content Writer and Lecturer for Certificate of Higher Education Emergency Preparedness and Civil Protection

Currently a Welsh Government Incident Response Officer working within the Civil Contingencies and National Security Team. Involved with Emergency Planning dealing with incidents and scenarios that have affected Health Boards, Police and other Emergency Services, Military, Local Authorities and third sector organisations. Provision of briefings for Welsh Government Ministers, Senior Civil Servants and Welsh Government Liaison Officers for Strategic/Recovery Co-ordination Groups. Delivers training on Volunteering for the Emergency Co-ordination Centre Wales (ECCW) and on the Civil Contingencies Act 2004, related Statutory and Non-Statutory Guidance.

Previous career roles include Planning and Briefing Officer for the Welsh Government for the COVID-19 pandemic and other concurrent events. In addition, worked with Third Sector charities to facilitate and train volunteers to assist in ‘Severe Weather’ events and to build relationships with Local Resilience Forums and Partners by formulating Memorandums of Understandings. This involved playing an integral part in making on-the-spot decisions by using good judgement and thorough understanding of situations in multi-agency and complex environments.

Academic qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in Disaster Studies with Honours and a National Diploma in Public Services. Joint Emergency Services Interoperability Principles (JESIP). He is trained in project and programme management.

Member of the Scout Association and received the Queen’s Scout Award. Gained extensive knowledge and have been able to apply it within Scout Association devising programs and activities across the United Kingdom.
