Gavin continuing to explore different avenues of visual communication that he first explored in his Masters studies. The main focus of his personal work is looking at how information is presented and communicated to the viewer.

Gavin is constantly updating his skills to stay current with developments in technology that relate to our sector of the creative industries landscape

Gavin has over 20 years experience in working with technologies relating to graphic design in both digital and hand craft elements.

For the past 18 years, Gavin has organised the Graphic Design stand at the New Designers Exhibition that is held annually at the Business Design Centre in Islington, London. As a result of this consistent presence and the high standard of curated work that is displayed each year, Gavin has been able to nurture strong relationships within the creative industry. Companies like Sky Creative, Lego, Saatchi and Saatchi Wellness, and countless other agencies that design for established household names are regular employers of our graduates and also visitors to our course.

Gavin has also been an integral part of the organising team for our now annual Design Week conference. Design Week is a week of workshops and lectures from industry professionals associated with our graduates.

Some of the companies that have visited us to run workshops are Sky News, Sky Sports, Lego, Saatchi and Saatchi Wellness, Animal, Waters Creative, Dirty Little Serif, and many others. Design Week aims to expose current students to industry and show that there is a career path beyond their studies.

Gavin Kirby was awarded the Student-Led Teaching Award for Art & Design in 2013 and received it again in 2014. He is a self-confessed massive nerd, a tabletop gamer and has a love for all things Star Wars.

Gavin strongly believes that we are here to enable our students to stand upon our shoulders and reach further. Transforming lives, to change the world, one students at a time :)
