I have worked at the University at Lampeter since 2002. My teaching work is focused on teaching Welsh as a second language within the University and in the workplace. I am responsible for developing and teaching on-line modules for the Foundation Certificate in Practical Welsh for distance learning students. I also organise and teach on our Intensive Welsh Courses at the Lampeter Campus.

I am the programme director for the Postgraduate Certificate in Subtitling. This programme is in collaborating with a number of major subtitling and broadcasting companies in Wales in terms of the provision of work placements, equipment, professional advice and guest lecturers.

My interests include teaching methodologies and second language acquisition.

I am interested in the continually developing field  of subtitling and different aspects of subtitling, live subtitling, the effectiveness of voice recognition equipment used in recognising the Welsh language to create subtitles, respeaking for the purpose of creating intralingual and interlingual subtitles for viewers, including viewers who are deaf and hard of hearing.
