Background

Prior to joining UWTSD, I held two roles in higher education - Coordinator for the Languages for All (Chinese) Programme at Cardiff University and Lecturer of Chinese as a Foreign Language at Xiamen University. With a teacher qualification in both China and the UK, I have trained pre-service Confucius Institute teachers and volunteers, cementing my expertise in teacher education.

Throughout my career, I have taught Mandarin Chinese to learners of all ages, from primary and secondary schools in England and Wales to adult learners mastering HSK 1-6. As a dedicated teacher educator, I have delivered engaging lectures on Chinese pedagogy, behaviour management, comparative education, and intercultural studies. Furthermore, I have provided professional development training workshops to teachers of Chinese and MFL in China, the UK, and the USA.
