Whilst raising a family, she developed her interest in Primary Education enrolling on a PGCE course to become a teacher. Prior to her appointment as a Lecturer of AoLE Maths and Numeracy in 2021, she worked as a Primary Teacher for twelve years, teaching in rural schools in Ceredigion. During her teaching career, she studied a module on developing new middle leaders and worked as an Acting Deputy Head.
