  • I am a qualified and chartered Architect with 23 years prior experience in Architectural Practice, the past 19 years as a partner/director in a business.
  • I act as a professional Studies Advisor to the RIBA through Birmingham School of Architecture at Birmingham City University supporting students and future architects with their Professional Education Development Records.
  • I am an active member of the Royal Society of Architects in Wales and recently elected to the presidency, taking position in September for a 2 year period. This role will give me a seat at the council for the RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects)
  • I am my comfortable within most architectural subjects, but my specialism is in professional practice, Law & Construction Technology.
  • To further my academic knowledge, I am currently studying for a PG Cert in Higher Education

I am not active in research at present, but I have aspirations to consider the current approved documents of the building regulations with a view to informing government on the need for construction and design based guidance when designing for people with mental health issues.

  • I am a chartered Architect with considerable experience in practice and running a business. As a partner within an architectural practice, I have experience of all elements of the RIBA work stages and have considerable experience of the holistic processes involved in construction from the inception of the client brief through to the end life analysis of a building and everything in between.
  • My practice work has given me opportunity to work with a variety of funding bodies on grant assisted projects, allowing me to gain a wealth of knowledge on attaining financial support for projects.
  • Beyond the norm of architectural practice, I have a background in conservation projects and have a substantial CV of refurbishment/renovation work including the former offices of Aneurin Bevan in Tredegar.
  • I have been involved with Birmingham School of Architecture over a number of years, as a design tutor and mentor.
  • I have been a registered STEM ambassador for the last 8 years delivering lectures, seminars & work experience to local schools and school children on a voluntary basis.

  • Until November 2017, I was in full time private practice running an architecture firm with projects rainging from single domestic dwellings up to projects such as Merthyr Town FC Stadium and Club house, bars & Restaurants and major residential and commercial development projects.
