Lecturer in International Hotel Management
I have 5 years of relevant academic and higher education experience, I have had the opportunity of tutoring, mentoring and teaching students from different social and cultural backgrounds. I mentor, advice, supervise and support students on a personal level both at Undergraduate and Postgraduate level.
I also have experience in teaching Pre-sessional English/ business courses in a UK university context. I deliver teaching (Lectures and seminars) in the areas of international business management , international human resources management, marketing communication , managing and leading people in international organization, ethic is business , international hospitality and tourism management for level 4, 5, 6 and 7 students (MSC and MBA) in UK higher education. I supervise undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations.
Associate fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA) (Designed for staff engaged in academic practices including teaching, learning, assessment, research and professional development within the Higher Education context. The AFHEA provides an exploration of the underpinning pedagogy of teaching and learning, and support for the practical aspects of developing academic practice.)
Teach undergraduate and postgraduate students in the following subject areas; International Hotel management, Business ethics and responsible management, International business and management, Travel and tourism, International Human resources management (IHRM), International Business Environment, Comparative Managing People in organization, organizational behaviour, Personnel Resourcing, as well as Marketing communication, Podcasting, Management in Computer technology, Social media in the workplace, Qualitative and Quantitative research Methods (SPPS, WarpsPLS and SmartPLS structural modelling etc), Strategic Management: Theory and Practice.
My main research interests border around business and management. I am interested in research cantered on improving and building success for businesses. I am currently in the process of completing my PhD in business and management in which I am investigating the extent to which employees adopt Internal social media platforms for employee engagement and its impact on performance in aviation sector within the context of Europe and Africa. My primary interests include; International hotel management / Travel and tourism, International business and management, human resources management (HRM) talent management, learning and development management, organizational behaviour, leadership development, cross-cultural management and communication, cross-cultural communication and Social media/ technology.
