Q. Where is the Swansea open day?
We have three main locations within Swansea, each offering a different range of subjects. Please refer to the programme guides here for details of subject locations.
- Swansea Business Campus: SA1 1NE
- Swansea College of Art: SA1 5DU
- Swansea SA1 Waterfront: SA1 8EW
Q. Can I come to any campus?
Although each of the campuses listed above will be open to visitors, you will need to attend the campus where your course is based. This will enable you to meet teaching staff and visit the facilities relevant to your subject of interest.
Q. Can I arrive at any time? What time will the event finish?
Registration at each location starts at 10am followed by an introductory talk at 10.30. We recommend that you arrive in time for the registration and welcome talk as this will allow you to make the most of your time with us. You are free to leave at any time with the event finishing no later than 3.30pm.
Q. Will I be able to make an application on the day?
Yes. If you would like to complete an existing application or start a new one, staff will be available to help you.
Q. Will there be finance and accommodation information available?
Yes. Members of staff from our student support team will be available to discuss financial support, accommodation worries and any learning support requirements you may have.
These staff will be based in the IQ building at Swansea Waterfront (SA1 8EW) and in the Alex Design Exchange (SA1 5DU). If you are attending one of the other Swansea campuses you will have the option of using one of our free shuttle buses to transfer between campuses. The final shuttle bus will leave campus at 2.15pm.
Q. Where can I park?
Free parking is available at Swansea Waterfront (SA1 8EW) and at Swansea Business Campus (SA1 1NE) which is a 10-minute walk from the Swansea College of Art (half a mile).
If you are attending the Open Day for Art and Design at the Alex Building (SA1 5DU), parking will be available in the NCP car park on Orchard Street (SA1 5AS).
The Alex Building is a short walk, around 3 minutes, from the NCP car park. When you arrive at reception, the Open Day staff will provide you with a ticket for the car park. This can be used when you return to your car and will mean that you will not be charged. Please note that you should park your car first before registering with reception for your free parking ticket.
Q. Can I arrive by Train?
Yes. Swansea train station is conveniently located close to the city centre and a 1-minute walk from the Business Campus. When you book your place at an open day, just tell us that you will be arriving by train and our shuttle bus will pick you up and take you to the relevant campus.
Q. Can I bring a guest with me?
Absolutely! We would love to meet your friends or family. Just let us know how many guests you are bringing when you book your open day so that we can tell our catering staff.
Q. Will there be refreshments?
Yes, light refreshments will be available in the morning and lunch will also be provided. Please let us know when booking if you have any special dietary requirements.
Q. Do I need to register for the event?
We do ask that you register online before the event. This helps us to know how many people to expect, so that we can tell our catering staff, and to know more about your needs. If you are travelling by train or have any special requirements please tell us when you book so that we can make suitable arrangements for you.
Q. Will I receive a booking confirmation?
Yes. You will receive a booking confirmation email as soon as you register and further details about the open day a few days before the event. If you don’t see it, please check your junk or spam folders. All emails from us about the day will be sent from firstname.lastname@example.org.
Q. What if I can’t make it on the day, do I need to cancel?
If your plans change and you can’t visit us, you can let us know by emailing: email@example.com. If you would like to change to a different open day date, let us know and we will adjust your booking.
