I studied Tourism and Foreign Languages in college in Norway for two years and I quickly realised that this is what I wanted to do. I was more interested in the travel and tourism industry than any other industry and I've always loved to travel, explore new places and new cultures. My college lecturer said I would achieve great things if I decided to study tourism at a higher level, and that was when I knew this would be the right path for me.

During my years at university, we’ve had many field trips. Including day trips to Cardiff and London, as well as a 3-day field trip to London where we visited Twickenham. We recently went on a 10-day field trip to Malaysia where we visited Air Asia, University of Malaya-Wales and Royal Caribbean International’s Mariner of the Seas.

My favourite field trip was definitely Malaysia. It taught me a lot about myself, my fellow students and cultural differences that will be very beneficial for my future career!

In my 2nd year at UWTSD, I was so fortunate to get a placement with Royal Caribbean International. I was working as Shore Excursions Staff on Serenade of the Seas for 6 months. I was able to visit a lot of places I thought I would never be able to visit, including Russia, Canada, The Caribbean, The Azores, Lithuania and more. Even though it was tough, I got to experience the industry from a different view which was extremely valuable to me and my studies, and which will be important for a future career as well. Those 6 months really taught me that hard work pays off.

Through UWTSD I have been offered a job in Aspen, Colorado with Little Nell Hotel when I finish my MTour degree. Little Nell Hotel is a luxury skiing resort in Aspen, Colorado.

I feel like I have been extremely lucky with my lecturers. I have had most of my lecturers since I started at UWTSD in 2014 which have created strong bonds between us. All of my lecturers have been beyond helpful and understanding regardless of any situation, and they have always encouraged me to do my absolute best yet pushed and challenged me to reach my full potential. I am forever grateful to them for everything they have done for me, and I owe them everything.
